My first Thlog

Have you ever just felt like that one student in class that has no idea about what they are learning and you just look at all the other students and they look like they know everything.  Yeah well that’s what I’m feeling right now.  So I’m sitting in class and we start talking about genre and stuff and I’m cool with it, you know I kind of understood it.  But, then we started getting into more discussion about it and it is a really hard concept to grasp for me.  Another thing that we learned was the difference between first-order thinking and second-order thinking.  The difference between those two is that first-order is not planned it is kind of like this post.  Second-order is writing that is planned and well thought out.  Such as a well thought out essay or something.  This was all very interesting and all, but after a whole class of talking about it, my understanding of it became less and less.
Overall though, I really was interested about the first-order and second-order writing.  I was interested about this because I have used first order writing all the time.  I just never knew there was an explanation for it, or a term.  On the other hand, I have also used second order writing all the time too.  But, I always didn’t like it.  I mean, who likes to make tables and outlines.  I think it is pretty boring, but I do think it is necessary for certain essays such as my A.P. exams or something like that. This is pretty much all I have been learning, there has probably a lot more but I just can’t remember right now.  Anyways if you have stuck with me this long I would like to say thank you and have a nice day.

The Truth

Yo wassup guys! My name is Luke, I’m that one random guy probably in the back of the class.  But don’t go thinking I’m antisocial.  I would love to meet each and every one of you.  Now let’s see where can I start.  Back in my younger days, which means high school.  I was more the athletic type.  I played basketball and ran track all four years of high school, and I also played first base on my high school baseball team.  Well I was actually more of the backup, to be truthful I was mostly in the dugout.  Other things I also did besides sports was that I was also involved in my schools speech and debate team.  If you’re wondering what that is, we basically went to school on a Saturday and listened and told speeches, yeah I know it sounds kind of boring.  However, it was really fun and I liked it.
Now that I have a fresh start here in college, I want to try new things and meet new people.  I’m undecided right now about my major and I hope that I find something that I am passionate about in the next year so that I can be motivated, but I have enough things to worry about as it is right now.  Some of my favorite things to do in the dorms are just chill out and listen to music, hang out with friends, and just have fun.  I hope that I don’t get overloaded with work because I really want to enjoy college life…….. and learn too, I didn’t forget about that.
As for the future I really hope I have a job that I love and that I am successful in.  That is the only thing that I am worried about honestly.  Well the only thing I can think of, there are probably a lot more.  Let me rephrase that, it is the only thing I want to think about.

Well, if you’ve stuck with me this long I would like to end it with me saying goodbye and thanking you.  So, thank you and see you later, I am really nervous and excited to be in this class with you.
